to Oxford, the to the United Kingdom, and the  to Ireland are especially prestigious, therefore especially competitive. All three require a significant letter of endorsement by 51Âþ»­Chicago among its application materials.

Students who are interested in applying for one of these awards must understand that it is a complex, sometimes time-consuming process. As the Fellowship Office must coordinate the campus process for endorsement, we have established the following internal requirements for each award:

Interested students must submit the following information no latter than 1 month before the fellowship deadline.

  • A narrative of no more than 500 words detailing the Oxford degree program in which you wish to enroll, including why that degree program and its resources are the best for your career goals.
  • A list of at least five and no more than eight people who can provide you with letters of reference.
  • Written confirmation you have read and agree to comply with the FO Ethics Statement.

All materials must be sent via e-mail to the Fellowship Office.

Interested students must submit the following information no latter than 1 month before the fellowship deadline.

  • A narrative of no more than 750 words detailing the UK institution and degree program you wish to attend, why you to attend that program, and addressing the of "knowledge of US/UK Relations." You may address any as well.
  • A list of the four people who can provide you with letters of reference.
  • Written confirmation you have read and agree to comply with the FO Ethics Statement.

  • A narrative of no more than 750 words detailing the Irish institution and degree program you wish to attend, why you to attend that program, and addressing the Mitchell Scholarship's published selection criteria of "scholarship, leadership, and a sustained commitment to community and public service." 
  • A list of the four people who can provide you with letters of reference.
  • Written confirmation you have read and agree to comply with the FO Ethics Statement.
